It’s been 2 weeks since we went on our first Canadian road trip from Edmonton to Jasper, Banff, Kananaskis Country and surrounding areas. We had such an incredible time that we can’t wait to go and see it all again soon!
Whilst in Banff, we stayed at the Delta Banff Royal Canadian Lodge and were so impressed with the service we got from Rizwan, Nathaniel & Jack that when Rizwan told about the free (yes, free) Delta Privilege Scheme, we wasted no time in signing up for it. Especially as it meant we could check out at 3 pm instead of 11 am the following day without additional charges. There are several other benefits of joining the Scheme but at that point in time, the late checkout time was the most attractive to us.
So we decided to stay at Delta Lodge at Kananaskis the following day too! Another excellent decision, if we do say so ourselves ha! Now we know that we may have been lucky but they allocated a 2 Queen bedroom to us! The view from the room was of the forest and the mountains, truly idyllic. For dinner that night, we had their housemade burger in their Bighorn Lounge, which was so delicious that no photos were taken as we did our disappearing trick with them!
We had a great night’s sleep despite ignoring one of the Queen beds. On the following day, I used their well-equipped gym before heading out for a run in their wonderful grounds, hoping that I would NOT see any of the bears that the signs warned of. We’re happy to report that the closest we got to any bears was the warning signs about them.
However, on our way out, we spotted some deer and managed to get a few photos on our mobile device. All the other images were taken with our cameras. Thanks Delta Hotels & staff for taking care of us in Banff & Kananaskis Country, we’ll certainly check out some of your other hotels soon.
