As some of you know, Adrian & I are Design Engineers in our other careers. In 2000, I decided to do all that was required for me to become a Chartered Mechanical Engineer. Several steps were required, the first of which was a 5-year Masters Degree at the University of Birmingham, UK with a Study Exchange year in University of Queensland, Australia.
Now after 5 years of working as a qualified Mechanical Engineer whilst collating all the evidence required to prove to the Institution of Mechanical Engineers that I am Chartership material (yes, it does take that long!), I am ecstatic to announce that I received confirmation today that I am now a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and a Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers! I feel so blessed!
Thank you to my Mentor, Colin Merewood and numerous other Design Engineers who have guided me through the last 10 years.
The Institution says that “Chartered Engineers are recognised for developing solutions to engineering problems using new or existing technologies either by innovation, creativity or change”. These qualities that I developed are being exhibited in our photographic endeavours and we will continue to do our photography work with growing passion and enthusiasm.
