When our friend & fellow wedding photographer, Fiona Kelly posted on twitter that she was excited at the prospect of covering Lottie & Jake’s wedding, we congratulated her. Then we thought that it’d be so much fun to second (& third) shoot for her and discover for ourselves the source of her delight. She agreed to us helping her to photograph the wonderful wedding of one of the nicest couples that we’ve had the pleasure of meeting: Lottie & Jake. Theirs was an English garden & music themed wedding in Lottie’s Grandma’s garden in Highgate London. There was a huge emphasis on the involvement of all their family members, some of whom performed songs and played various musical instruments at intervals during the day. The official photographer, Fiona will feature the full set of images from the day along with all of the story on her blog very soon. We’ll let you know when her post is live.
Meanwhile, here’s a selection of the images that Adrian & I took on the day. Thank you so much Fiona for letting us join you on this wedding, it was an absolute pleasure to work with you.
We started our coverage with the Groom, Jake’s preparations. One of Lottie & Jake’s Cats came to share in the fun of the day.Naturally, Jake’s Groom’s Man ensured his tie was centred. So, the taxi driver who took us to the wedding ceremony venue told us that the previous day, Dustin Hoffman had sat in same position as Jake then taxi driver produced his camera with this shot as proof!Jake’s Groom’s Man was also their officiant for the informal ceremony yet most meaningful part of their day, hence the look of concentration; Jake and Lottie had their official marriage ceremony in a Register office nearby and Fiona captured those lovely images.Ring bearer in such a pretty dress. How gorgeous is Lottie’s dress?!The band was made up of their family members and their performance heralded the arrival of Lottie & Jake from the Register Office ceremony. It was so lovely. They walked through Lottie’s Grandma’s house with confetti being showered upon them, gives a whole new meaning to “making an entrance”!Lottie’s headpiece was gorgeous.Lottie & Jake named their tables in a way that would need their guests to add the word “table” as a prefix or suffix and so made it a fun and interactive idea. So for example, they had “Periodic” table and tablet. Love it!Bunting galore, English Garden flowers & a beautiful music stand for the table names.Lottie with her siblings and cousins. There was another performance of a special piece for Lottie & Jake’s wedding day, conducted by Lottie’s Dad.The ring bearer caught the Bride’s bouquet! How tender is this moment?
