Though the day started off wet, it soon blossomed into a lovely sunny day; one that heralded the wedding of Sarah & Andy at the beautiful St Peter’s Church in Tewin. I (Funmi) second shot for Fiona Campbell and she’d asked me to start my coverage with Andy & his party’s pre-wedding lunch at The Horns Pub in Datchworth.
Here’s a selection of my images from the day.
The groom, Andy.Andy’s Grandmother & Mother.I love the sentiment behind the words on this beam: “Wrinkles should merely indicate where smiles have been.”Andy’s Parents and a friend. How I’d love to know what made her burst out in such unbridled laughter!Sarah’s Brother walked her down the aisle.Such a gleeful bride.Sarah being given away by her Mother. The couple’s friend who was on crutches the whole day read one of their readings before …..inadvertently providing me with this cool image.A relative played a specially composed arrangement for Sarah & Andy whilst they signed the Marriage Register.Love this black and white image of Sarah!Andy is a huge fan of cricket so a friend of theirs wittled and inscribed a miniature cricket bat as their adorable cake topper. Cricket and bunting cake flanked by Heather plants – could this get anymore quintessentially English? This image just shows how much the bride is centre of attention; Sarah accepted her bridal goblet from a friend whilst her bride’s maids clip her train to the back of her elegant dress. Love all the different expressions.Sarah’s sister was one of the bride’s maids; the countryside around Coltsfoot Country Retreat is so idyllic. The serenity on Sarah’s face is so evocative. Their Heather, burnished silver candlelabra & candles made stunning centrepieces. Some of their tables had these white roses as alternative centre pieces.Best man receiving a kiss from Sarah after his speech.Andy’s completely unexpected lift of Sarah at the end of their first dance was an absolute delight.Intense.Sarah and her Mother dancing the night away.
Thanks so much, Fiona for having me as your second shooter! Congratulations to Sarah & Andy.
