Who’d have thought Elephant & Castle with its LCC presence would be such a difficult place to get breakfast on a Saturday morning?! Well, Shirley & I discovered this and so set out to find a suitable restaurant to provide a hot meal to warm us up on that freezing December morning. We were directed to La Bodeguita, a colombian cafe within Elephant & Castle shopping centre. The food was delicious and very affordable. So LCC students who are yet to discover this little gem, you can start thanking us now.
I ordered Papa rellena, which is a battered ball of goodness that includes rice, mashed potatoes, pulled pork, eggs, peas, etc, anoven baked plantains with cheese and a large cup of coffee and it cost less than £6. I was so full we had to sit for a bit before we headed off to the exhibition at LCC.
As per the words on their facebook page, “Research Project is an exhibition of Postgraduate Design work produced by students from the School of Design at the London College of Communication. Research is a central and defining element of the design process, while at the same time innovative design-led approaches to the conduct of research can help to reveal new insights and understandings. The exhibition title reflects the iterative nature of design enquiry: the metaphor of visual projection provides a key unifying element across the wide range of work displayed.”
Our friend, Jeff, is one of the exhibitors, so we went to check it out as we knew that it’d be a great source of design inspiration. It is not an exaggeration when I say that we were subject to so much inspiration from the clever ideas borne in so many audio visual and physical tactile items that we were there for nearly 3 hours, yet only saw a small selection of the exhibits!
