As today is Adrian’s birthday and Christmas Eve, it seemed fitting to visit the famous Candy Cane Lane in Edmonton. It’s a free event for everyone to check out between 6th Dec 2013 & 2nd Jan 2014, the only request from the creative & generous residents of Candy Cane Lane is that visitors please bring donations for Edmonton Food Bank.
Some friends had recommended we check it out, then we saw Edmonton Dating‘s recommendation so we visited. Thanks Sam! We were certainly expecting loads of pretty lights and decorations on several houses; we were amazed by what we saw – rocket ships, shivering inflatable snow man, Santas of different varieties, trees with lots of mini disco balls, light projections and lifesize Gingerbread Houses! We saw much more but thought we’d leave some decor for you to see in person.
We parked 10 blocks away and walked the 8 blocks between 92 & 100 Avenues on 148 Street, a nice brisk walk. You could drive down but you’d be stuck in traffic as it is such popular destination. Help save the resident’s immediate climate by walking (reduces car fumes) and you’ll enjoy it more, way easier to stop for photos with some of the displays too.
On a side note, whilst there, we thought it’d so cool to do an engagement session or photograph a surprise proposal at Candy Cane Lane without disturbing the other visitors! If you’re planning either of those, contact us as we’d love to cover it!
