It’s with great delight that I post this first post of several about the events of the Vintage Wedding Photo Shoot in Greenwich :-)! From now on, I’ll refer to it as “Our Vintage Story” and boy, is it one?!
Ok so actually, the shoot started for Adrian & I on Monday 23rd August when we collected some vintage props and china tea sets from Rosie & Katie of Roses All Over. Then on Thursday 2nd September, we traversed London using public chariots to collect gorgeous wedding dresses and accessories from Kosibah Creations, Vintage Modes & Luella’s Boudoir. The items that they loaned us will be featured in subsequent posts very soon. Yes, we were exhausted but super excited by all the items we had been loaned!
So Saturday started off well with Deborah of Umi & Co Vintage at the Beehive opening up the shop for us to start the preparations for the shoot. The shop has adjoining entrance with Casbah Records so we were able to use it as a secondary location. Then it transpired that 3 of the 5 models & 1 Make Up Artist that had confirmed to Louisa were unable to attend for various reasons. Never fear, though because Jemima Williams of Little Red Robin Hood & 3 of our lovely Inventory Team, Cherilyn, Lynsey & Paul were able to step in and save the day!
So whilst the 2 models, Sarune and Sophia Louise, that attended were being made up by the fantastically cool, calm & collected Juliet Onyeka, I asked Jemima if she would please be one of our models, after all, she already had the vintage look about her as Jemima lives, eats and breathes the vintage lifestyle. Jemima had arrived already made up and pretty much ready to model, even though she didn’t know what was going to happen. She thought I was joking as she’d only joined us to loan us her beautiful handmade headpieces and hats for the shoot. Luckily, she agreed so this set of images focuses on Jemima’s exploits as a model – I think we can all agree that she loved every minute of being papped by 10 photographers!
