Back in January, I met the very talented Jacquelyn, Owner and Cake Designer at Cake Affair at her Bridal Fantasy booth. Immediately fell in love with the officially named “Nearly Nude” cake and informally named it the “Suggestive Cake” {insert nod to Stacey’s name of “Scantily Clad” here haha}. Whatever you wanna call it, the cake and the rest of them are gorgeous and full of beautiful details. I knew then that I needed to arrange another meeting with Jacquelyn to get to know her better and find out more about her wonderful cakes and dessert tables.
This week, Jacquelyn & I finally had the chance to catchup and I found out the reason for her business name: “ When my kids were younger and on the nights that my Husband, Dean, was home from working away, I would stay up late creating beautiful cakes for my Clients. Dean half-joked that I was having an affair with the cakes; hence the name “Cake Affair.” We are a licensed bakery in the heart of Spruce Grove, serving Edmonton and its greater communities.”
She added: “These days, Dean helps me with his support and also by building the displays for my cakes and desserts, some of which were featured at my Bridal Fantasy booth.”

Jacquelyn said that she designs her Dessert Bars’ aesthetics and edibles after detailed conversation with her Couples to determine their preferences. Her dessert bar fee includes the desserts, the crockery, cake stands and apothecary jars, frames, ornate trays, barrels, ladders, set up and take down.
I had so much fun hanging out with Jacquelyn and looking forward to working with her in the very near future.
Many thanks to the awesome Little Brick for your hospitality for our meeting today.
