Spring means start of Streetcar fun!
Operated by the Edmonton Radial Railway Society, the historic Edmonton High Level Bridge Streetcars are the perfect venue for an intimate Edmonton wedding! Their 2015 operating season started on Friday, May 15, 2015 and will end on Thanksgiving Monday. These facts reminded us of some images that we took back in 2013 of one their Streetcars. It is such a nostalgic way to travel, and a great way to take in the Edmonton River Valley at a slower pace than that experienced whilst in a car or LRT crossing the High Level Bridge.
Edmonton High Level Bridge Streetcars are fabulous for weddings.
Especially intimate wedding ceremonies; you could even plan for your ceremony to take place as the sun sets – how swoon-worthy a ceremony that would be?! When you get a private Streetcar charter, you can negotiate details of what you can do with it by contacting the Edmonton Radial Railway Society. The charter fee, which starts from $250 / hour (inclusive of GST), includes the use of the Streetcar with its Motormen and a tour of the Strathcona Streetcar Barn & Museum.
Mind-boggling to think that it took volunteers from the Edmonton Radial Rail Society 17 years to restore this particular Street Car at a cost of over $150,000.Thanks to our Driver for the day, Mr McLoughlin.
In case you haven’t guessed yet, “Yes! We love to cover your Edmonton wedding in an Edmonton High Level Bridge Streetcar!” Just so you know.
