#FreeStayFriday prize | Mettera Hotel on Whyte

6 weeks ago, we entered and won a #freestayfriday twitter prize from Mettera Hotel on Whyte. We were just excited at the prospect of free night at a chic hotel on Whyte Avenue…. then we found out that the prize included: Stay in an Earth King Room, complimentary valet or self parking, deluxe continental breakfast for two, hosted evening wine tasting, unlimited local phone calls and calling card or toll-free calls, hi-speed internet access,  complimentary use of bath robes and 24 hour access to the business centre and fitness room!

As we were yet to travel on the High Level Street Car, we decided to forego the complimentary parking.

 More images of our return trip on the High Level Street Car can be seen here. On arrival at our Earth King Room, we found great service with smiles,  comfort at its luxurious best and evidence that the housekeeping and marketing teams have great senses of humour.

They were very generous with the wine tasting, which actually included food too; grapes, cranberries, meats, seafood, crackers and each person was entitled to 2 glasses of wine. We tried both red and whites from Masi Winery and 14 Hands Winery. So good.

 The view from our 8th floor  Earth King Room was breathtaking!
