{27th April 2010}
As I had arranged for my friends to join me for an Al fresco lunch on Friday 30th April, I thought I’d keep my actual Birthday, 27th April, a low-key affair by not taking any cakes into my Engineering consultancy workplace.
So imagine my utter surprise, which was quickly followed by a mixture of gratitude and feeling loved when I saw this!
As I did not have either of our DSLRs with me, I borrowed my friend, Fola’s FUJIFILM FinePix F50fd to take the first 2 images. One of my friends, Lynsey had baked the divine chocolate cake, printed and displayed the sign, card signed by friends at work, sprinkled shiny stars and glitter all over my desk, left party bubbles and just in case there was not enough chocolate in the area, she also left so Lindt Milk chocolates!!! With the help of my friends (and after saving a bit for Adrian), the chocolate cake disappeared within 20 minutes. By late afternoon, one of my friends, Guy, told me he was buzzing from chocolate high because he also had one of the Lindt chocolates.
Lynsey, I’ve said this to you before but I’ll say it here again: “Thank you so much for my lovely surprise!” I was still finding glitter in my keyboard 10 days after my birthday hahaha…
On Friday 30th, we went for our Al Fresco Lunch at the Walled Garden in Tilgate Park, Crawley. Everyone had brought different meals from home or shops so that we could all share. It was then I discovered that Mike‘s wife, who was not even able to join us had made me a Pear birthday cake and Courgette bread – Yummy! Thanks Maria! Your Pear Cake was awesome! Adrian was taking the photos so don’t worry, he was there to sample all the foody delights :-)!
Mickey Mouse hats were a legacy from Sofia Valentina‘s 2nd birthday party: nuff said hehe http://tinyurl.com/y9yb9mg
