On a sunny September afternoon, I (Funmi) second shot for the lovely Ellie of Ellie Gillard Photography; it was the wedding day of the elegant & photogenic Lisa & Phil. They were married at Old Marylebone Town Hall before they travelled with their guests on Gwyn’s Big Red Bus to Union Club in Soho.
I started coverage at Allsop Arms in Marylebone, where Phil and his groom’s men were having refreshments before donning their multi-coloured buttonholes.Groom’s buttonhole.Phil with his groom’s men.Guests arrival at the Purple Room in Old Marylebone Town Hall.Just loved Lisa’s bouquet.I turned round whilst on the bus and saw the guest wearing red Ray Ban sunglasses through the rest of the guests. After the guests were settled at the Union Club, the couple and the bridal party walked to a nearby park for their formals. Whilst Ellie took the formals, I took these.Lisa with her multi-colour dressed bride’s maids. This waitress had just finished serving a table when I noticed her very cool hair! This mottled mirror and the pictures in the reflection are just a few of the details at the beautiful Union Club.On entry at the Union Club, this stunning art deco chandelier welcomes you. Lisa & Phil’s place settings gave a nod to their imminent travels for their honeymoon with the use of luggage tags for the place settings.Lisa & Phil work in publishing so their guests received different books as their favours. The red velvet wedding cake and cupcakes were baked by one of the groom’s men. It was delicious…. excuse me while I go down memory lane about its goodnesss…. ok I’m back.Wouldn’t you like to know what the Best man had just said to get that reaction from the Groom? I would hehe.Lisa & Phil received these comedy spectacles as wedding gifts……before one of her relatives tried them on.
Thanks to Lisa & Phil for a wonderful day. Even more thanks to Ellie for being an awesome official photographer and letting me join you for their wedding. Check out Ellie’s blog post for the full set of images and story.
