Last month, Karin of Site 6 Events Ltd commissioned us to take decor images and a few portraits of Carmel’s surprise 40 and fabulous at Belvedere Golf & Country Club in Strathcona County. Upon our arrival, we were blown away by the vision that met us; Karin & her team had done a fantastic job! I mean we’d seen Site 6 Events Ltd’s work previously and loved it but there’s nothing like actually seeing the work in person.
Karin explained further: “Ryan came to us a few weeks prior to Carmel’s birthday with the idea to plan a surprise party to celebrate her big 40 amongst their close-knit group of friends. The goal was to completely transform the clubhouse from a bare space into a W Hotel-inspired, NYC, glossy cocktail affair. With Carmel having absolutely no idea about the party, her reaction upon arrival was priceless and a very special moment.”
“Keeping in mind Carmel’s contemporary style, we chose black and copper as the main colour palette for a dramatic feel contrasted with sharply defined geometric patterns used in the graphic design, lighting projections and décor elements. As Carmel’s favourite colour is purple, we incorporated artistically-designed purple floral creations and amber, blue and fuchsia lighting hues.”
“A special “VIP” lounge area with a gold chaise surrounded by decorative floral and special gifts from Ryan further made the design unique to Carmel.” 
“To make the evening extra special, Carmel’s favourite drinks were available from several stations; vodka spritzers were served from a custom-designed geometric ice luge and her favourite wines were available at the wine tasting bar.”

It’s more than fair to say that Carmel loved it all!
Karin said that after our coverage finished, “all guests were gathered in the center of the room to sing happy birthday while a wow-factor lighting and confetti show filled the room with gold, black and purple confetti for another surprise. Urban Metropolis then kept the crowd on their feet and entertained for the dance party until the end of the night.”
