Whimsical Cake Studio was a tasty & pretty booth to visit at Bridal Fantasy.
Owner, Darcy told us more about Whimsical Cake Studio, a Sweet shop in the Historic Garneau Theatre Building in Old Strathcona. “We proudly make all of our products from scratch. From the sweet fondant we use to cover our from hand made cakes, to the chocolate syrup we drizzle on the fresh cupcakes every morning. We make the extra effort for you because it tastes better. Our bakers and artists love what they do, and it shines through in everything we make. We offer over a dozen flavours of cupcakes baked fresh every day, as well as many mouthwatering handmade candies, and treats. We like to take risks playing with and exploring flavours. Entering the store is a sensory adventure, with scents recalling memories of baking with your family, delicious treats to tantalize your taste buds, a plethora of fun products to looks at, and laughter ringing in your ears from the staff as they happily create. From elegant wedding creations to 3-D sculptures, each of our custom cakes is a work of art. Birthday, Comic, Nerdy, Cartoon, or Kids, Special event and even corporate function, if you can dream it, we can make it into a Custom Cake just for your celebration. Come visit our shop and enjoy the wonderful aromas of our Edmonton bakery we would love to see you.”
We have visited several times and confirm that it is as delicious and beautiful-smelling as it sounds, perhaps, even more so!

When this amazing “Mr & Mrs True Love” cake was featured in Wedding Bells magazine’s “Canada’s Prettiest Wedding Cakes for 2015“, Owner Darcy said “We wanted to do a cake that was uncommon and reflected the style of some of our most wonderful clients. We also wanted to create a piece that was not quite mainstream. We combined old and new techniques and designs to create a beautiful and unique cake. We took inspiration from rockabilly and tattoo culture, adding some romantic lace elements, and a really fun hand-painted font. It was a fun and stimulating challenge to combine all of our decorators’ unique talents and styles into a single design. Each couple is one-of-a-kind, and we believe their cake should be too.” We at FO Photography couldn’t agree more! What a stunning & unusual wedding cake.
